In Bangalore

Home : Travel : Bangalore : One section

We slept late on our first Sunday in Bangalore because we went to the disco The Club Inferno. The club is located about 7 km outside of Bangalore on the Bangalore-Mysore highway. We decided to relax on this day and work on our sunburns next to the pool.

In the afternoon we went to the office of the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) to get some more information on Bangalore and the surroundings. On the way there the rickshaw driver took us on a small tour through Bangalore.

The High Court of Bangalore. This big red building houses the High Court of Bangalore. The High Court faces a giant backlog of cases that they hope to eliminate during the next 2 years.

The parliament building of Karnataka, the Vidhana Soudha, is built in typical Dravidian style. The Vidhana Soudha is an imposing granite building housing both the secretariat and state legislature as well as other government offices. It is built in a neo-Dravidian style. Every Sunday evening it is lit by big flood lights.

The road between the Vidhana Soudha on one side and the High Court on the other. These buildings oppose each other on a street also named Vidhana Soudha. This is a big boulevard where parking is not allowed. At the end of the street lies another imposing building, the General Post Office.
